Can someone please tell me what this is? It was in a building of a deceased neighbor that was left to my wife. The owner was a ww2 veteran. The glass canister was inside the metal housing that has a striker rigged to break the glass with pressure. Thanks in advance.

If this is a fire grenade would it be an extinguisher or an incendiary device? Thanks for the input bobby725!

Wow, I think your right! The glass is full of liquid and looks like a lot of the vintage extinguishers. I was afraid it might be something dangerous. Thanks so much for your help!

Thanks again for all the help. No wall bracket on it but I did find a picture of a similar one hanging on a wall just like you said. There was a spring loaded device under it to break glass
