This is a four lobed shape with a little foot and no pontil scar. It has a honeycomb décor, rather like Harlequin Honeycomb in colour but on a yellow spatter base. The rim trim is amethyst and it has no provenance mark.
Height 21.5 cm./8 inches
As I am sure you are aware, the list of Czech firms known to use gadgets in production is rather short. An applied rim with no pontil mark is a sure fire indication that a gadget or snap tool was used to produce this vase. There would be no other way to do it.
Interesting find. You seem to be on a "Deco Tango" tear at the the moment.... Congrats... All Great Stuff!! As a side note, this is an uncommon color combination, but one that is found on the distinctive Welz Zig Zag Lines decor.
I am curious if the yellow fluoresces if exposed to black light?
Love it!

I've been here before with this décor but that one wasn't a Welz shape. This shape is much the same as the example for pink honeycomb on your site. I have two examples of Zigzag Lines in brown and yellow. However there the lines are on a solid yellow base. Here the base is large yellow spatter on a clear base. The honeycomb pattern is in mixed Autumn colours as per Harlequin Honeycomb. Looking through these vases you can see glints of clear glass. I think its identification. if any, will depend on shape ...... again!
I haven't finished my 'Deco Tango' tear either.
The battery needs replacing on my black light, sorry!
In many cases it always comes down to a variety of details, with shape being one of them.... But I have to guess that by now you are quite used to that.... :-)
Hello scott,
