The lucite has such a realistic look! Boucher made some really unusual and unique pieces. I take it that Boucher is one of your favorite brands. I only have a couple by them. :)
This brooch is so weird and quirky, and it perfectly resembles those little splodges of nothing in particular that float about on the ocean floor with dozens of trailing ferny fringes, anemones I think they are called?
I love the way some of them are twisted as if being swayed by the ocean's currents and if something were to swish by they'd dart in all of a sudden,....I think it's possibly the strangest brooch I've ever seen and that's what I like about it- it's just so quirky and unusual! :P
Oh my this is marvelous! I'm so glad you mentioned anemones Lauren - I think there's a couple right on top of the brooch. I think the longer pieces are some kind of plant floating along.
We used to holiday in Devon and Cornwall. You've made me remember the rock pools, and the anemones that clung to the side of the pools. We poked them and were fascinated by what happened. Climbed on those rocks for a very long time.
Newfld - Please would you take a pic, and turn the brooch so the long gold pieces are hanging down?
Thanks so much for the love

Thank you for the great comment Broochman, I'm sure you are right Boucher has many fish and oceanic designs, I have a super cost jwlry book by Brunialti that is a two volume set with all the diff Boucher categories (art nouveau, birds, ballerinas etc) but it is currently packed away until we move, I will check it out in awhile
Yes MrsT isn't the bubbly coral realistic looking, it also looks a bit like caviar roe to me! Boucher definitely is one of my faves, always well designed & he did a lot of figurals - appreciate the lovely comment
Right Eileen, this brooch has a really nice aquatic theme there is alot in it, really glad it's a favorite of yours, I like the way it has underwater movement, appreciate the warm praise
Lauren you are right, normally the ocean depths are murky and dark, not very appealing, but seems this brooch favors the pretty ocean floor you find off islands like Hawaii or the Caribbean, where the bright sunlight illuminates tropical fish & plants, I really appreciate your incisive & kind comment
Gillian I am so happy this brooch reminded you of lovely rock pools from your seaside holidays, this is a wonderful feature of our CW, recalling fond memories. Unfortunately this brooch is now packed away in preparation of our long awaited move, if it were available I would most definitely make an upside down photo for you, til then try to flip a pic with the phone or tablet, Pascale-kyratango is always telling me how to do that I'm not too tech savvy lol
Thank you Thomas I'm so glad this had the wow factor for you & appreciate the wonderful praise
Yes Mary wasn't Boucher creative, I love to see his spin on things he was also a very elegant designer. I'm loving these comments myself, from super nice friends like yourself
Thanx again Eileen for more lovely compliments, I am delighted you enjoyed this piece
Aw Shucks
