Very strangely shaped cup. Not round, but several angles and multiple surfaces. Colors are vivid and the double finger holes are special. Another item from my Aunt's vintage collection. Maybe hand painted?

K - me too, but not 50. I sorted through my "collection" yesterday and attempted to get rid of a few (we are packing to move) and mostly failed. There are rules for keeping. I do like single unique cups and not sets.

K - wow on the whale tale cups - they are nice! I would have bought those and placed them in the china cabinet, with the china.

The spreadsheet treatment has a familiar touch of OCD - beautiful (ha). I did a spreadsheet for my Aunt's coin collection - before I learned that there is no real value except for the silver or gold. They melt them down (Barbaric). Glad your technique helped you to let go.

I see you are fond of the wacky. That is part of my criteria for keeping - wacky, unique, heart-breakingly pretty, nifty, witty, something my children made in ceramics class, something my children gave me as gifts or souvenirs from trips (way too many Disney cups). I hope to let go of everything that does not meet those "standards."

Great that you think of those who will be left to clear out your stuff - I am usually the chosen one. For now, it is my aunt. My mother is 90 and I am begging her to let it all go now! She and my aunt were both collectors - so much stuff I am overwhelmed. Items I post here I will keep - everything else must go.

K- very good advice. There is a need for a good blog or article on how to handle this situation - planning in advance. Thanks.

K - I should've known it was a thing. This is such timely information. I will take the time today to review all. I am trying to go minimalist - except for my books, the books stay.

My goal is to get rid of everything we do not need and most of which we can do without. I have my aunt's collection, my mother's collection and the overflow of combining three households. I am so through with stuff I sold six of my mother's German Beer Steins for $22.00 yesterday. K, she has clowns - lots of them.

Moving in about a month is a great chance to declutter - Swedish Death Cleaning sounds like a beautiful thing. Must be brutal. Thanks.

I am learning so much about the items I love and plan to keep. Collectors Weekly is a wonderful resource. As are you.

Your previous comment - I thought anal-retentive but typed OCD. I once suggested to co-workers that we create t-shirts with our private battle cry, "We are anal, and proud of it!"

      Thanks Keramikos!
