When I first seen this in the thumbnail I thought it was a beaver but in realising it's an otter, that's even better!
I love these animals, there's something about their inquisitive behaviour and the way they stand up on their hind legs and look about curiously is captured perfectly in this glass piece, when I first seen these animals it was in Dublin Zoo years ago and they stood up just like this, I think it was what drew me to them in the first place, and yours captures this perfectly- he's so sleek and cute looking!

Ken thank you so much for the really wonderful compliments, down deep I am just a true animal lover and that's my passion, I am so delighted when others find the beauty in my little critters. You have the most amazing beautiful collection both past & present, I look forward to your lovely posts so much and am humbly grateful for your kind words

Gillian they ARE amazing animals, aren't they, really adorable to watch. Thanks so much for your sweet compliment!

Thanks Eileen for the fantastic compliments and great info about the real otters, I think you live in a most marvelous part of the country with so much natural beauty and wonderful animals, you are one lucky lady! I am always trying to find a different glass animal to add to the menagerie, and really delighted you enjoyed this one

Great inspiring compliments Lauren thanks so much, I would have loved to see an otter exhibit at a zoo like you have, that must have really been fun! I think they do have otters at NY's Bronx Zoo as there have been TV documentaries about them, which is as close as I have come to seeing them - but I love marine life & will be hoping to put that on my "to do" list this summer!
