This is another organic type of modern Czech glass dish-bowl-ashtray. Measures 7 inches by 2 inches. It is not by Zemek, but possibly Anna Machovska, who designed the famous Romana glass line, a decor which incorporates blue, yellow and red colors with several glass applications, and clear glass.
Before I finalised my bids, I was careful to research with google, just to see what else she designed, and I did find other examples of the same glass piece I was interested in attributed to her.
Does not mean I believed it because the glass fabrication on my listed glass here is very different, more as a sommerso glass with graduating colors heated together with a clear glass body.
Further investigation about AM revealed that according to Mark Hill, she had designed a line called Pizzicato before the one she is most famous for, Romana. I have acquired another booklet called CESKE SKLO 1940S TO 1980S, Part II, catalog from the auction of a private collector in 2010.
One of the objects AM designed was a medium sized glass basket with a handle and a knob at the very top of it. She used this basket for several of her designs and decors, including Pizzicato. That is where two baskets show up in the auction catalog, with the same decor as my piece, vibrant colors in green, yellow, red and yellow, plus the integrated heated graduations of the glass shades. which provides much information about the glass piece, the year 1960 model 53566 and the designer.
A great tool for the new collector to have. If you have this publication it is lot #118.
Thanks for the loves and all the information Kevin, much appreciated. Seems this producer is still in the unidentified category as far as Jindrich knows.
