Hopefully the whole thought/story here isn't too macabre/gross for any of all y'all...?? <wink><giggle>

But anyway, here we go. This is indeed the newest 'necklace' I've taken to wearing lately, at least in that it has only been a 'necklace' for about 2 months now after I made it myself (ultimately in more than one way, I suppose...?) after an hour or so's visit to my dentist one day shortly before that, who quickly and painlessly yanked it outta my jawbone for me. (where it had otherwise been located for the past ~45+yrs) This action was necessitated after I bit down wrong on something a week or so previous to *that* -- the tooth itself had technically been "loose" (due to a neighboring extraction by a different dentist) for a decade+ already, but had meanwhiles never given trouble. (even though, as can also be seen, it had other 'issues' all along too... <eeek>)

Maybe needless to say, I have/had a "history" with this particular tooth. <groan> Thus I had the presence of mind to ask my dentist to keep it after he pulled it, also figuring (as hasn't always been the case) that it'd probably emerge from my mouth pretty easily and mostly intact, as indeed was the case. :-)

I took it home with me in a little plastic bag in my pocket, then a few days later drilled a tiny hole thru the top of its root and added a small metal loop and thin leather lanyard w/closure. (from the craft store) Gotta pay close attention to that little leather cord, I'm not yet convinced of its 'durability' and might end up needing to replace it with something sturdier, eventually?

Usually less painful to collect other people's teeth.

That's a very unusual necklace and story attached to it- I like the length of it and the aged look to it. I have a little jar of my teeth too (and one of my mother's), might think about making a necklace out of some of them too...:P

Thank you so very kindly LaurenRedmond!! :-) :-) :-)

I'll gladly take the description "unusual" -- as I do tend to find most anything described that way to be generally more-funner than other 'typical' things...?? <LOLOL>
