I acquired this Allyn Sales Boeing B-707 (Boeing 712 Design) Stratoliner in American Airlines markings this week. These were supplied in both commercial and military versions starting in 1958. With the desk style stand, this one was produced in 1960. It was to be quite a challenge to "make-right". As can be seen in the first two photos, the model was missing three of its four engines and the mounting pieces for its belly mount were missing. plus the model and stand had never been cleaned and waxed. New NOS engines were found. The old engine stubs were difficult to remove from their sockets but heat and acetone help to finally loosen them. The new engines were carefully retrofitted to the wings. Both the stand and model were carefully cleaned then waxed will avoiding the nice decal/stickers markings. Then new belly clips, bolts, spacer, spring and friction pad were located or crafted so that the model could be re-fitted to the ball on the support arm. Now it is clean and back in the air!
Thanks for LOVES everyone!
