I bought this small, decorated, Russian, wooden box at a flea market in Copenhagen for the equivalent of USD 22. Probably too much. It has a hinged lid and my guess would be that it's made of Birch wood ? Decorated with an important person, a priest ?, entering a house, while the coachman is waiting outside on the horsedriven sledge. Probably late 19th century ? 11.5 cm x 7.0 cm x 4.0 cm. If you can tell me more, then don't hesitate to do so !
Unfortunately it almost has to be handled to be appreciated properly. A lot of these trinket boxs in Canada and the states were made of cedar. Love them all !~
