First off, I'm not sure if this little compact mirror is Japanese or Chinese and was wondering if anyone here on CW here would know?
I came across it on my last trip to the charity shops and of course was drawn to it's rather understated beauty, that and the fact I really love compact mirrors and love collecting them and it's quiet rare that I do actually come across them so this was something of a treasure I think! :P
The other thing I was wondering about was it's handle- it's got some weight to it and whatever it's made from is quiet clear but under certain light conditions has a rather greenish opaque or even milky tinge to it. Could it be some sort of agate? Or is it just some kind of resin?
Cost €25 ($28.01/£22.08)
This is a nice Chinese export handled mirror with a decorated porcelain plaque on one side, and some ornate metal settings. The handle if cool to the touch is a stone, probably serpentine, if not cool, that would be resin, but I would be surprised if it was. The handle is supposed to mimick white jade.
Dates late 20th century. Thanks for posting.
Thanks for all information on this Truthordare, it's very helpful!
