This pair of 2 3-4"H x 6"W ocean blue glass birds have forked tails and I'm told they are parakeets, which are my favorite bird. From Murano, sent to me from Italy

Very nice Murano birdies! And how great to have a set of them!

Gosh those tails look so very SHARP! I seen them in the thumbnail and at first thought you'd posted two more blue snails but these little parakeets are lovely. Their rather plump and small shapes remind me a little bit of swallows actually and especially the way they seem to be just sitting on the ground kinda the way swallows do that too(if they do actually land!) :P

Eileen thanks for the super compliments on my pair of parakeets, they are actually about the size of the real bird (I should know, have been the prior owner of 3!) and yes I always have to steer clear of those tails, more to avoid breaking them than their sharpness :)

Thanks MrsT for the kind praise, yes it is great to have the set, they get to be shelf friends to each other lol!

Lauren swallows are another great choice for this variety of bird, although I think the forked tails are purely a design touch right. You are right, the tails are quite spiky & I always handle them carefully as though I collect glass I have been known to be clumsy with it! Super kind compliments, thanks so much

You and I both Ken for favoring birds of all animals, with me there is something so free about a bird in flight, sometimes I just think if I could come back as anything it would be a bird, truly! Many thanks as ever for your wonderful compliments & kind thoughts
