The vintage machine was installed at airport in Canada as a promotional item when airport opened in 1954. Once the upright units came around I was given the unit. I have been moving it around all of these years. It still works great but is in rough shape. I have yet to find another even similar to it. Does anyone have any idea of its value?

This unit was put into an airport in 1954 when the airport opened in Canada. I was given the machine when it was replaced by an upright unit. I have been moving this machine around for years. It still works great. I have yet to find one like it and I am interested in it's value. Can anyone help? Thank you

Sorry to bump this old thread, but I have one of these too. I got mine in Calgary more than 20 years ago and was surprised that I had to scroll to page 35 of Google images to find one like it.

These are definitely uncommon units. Any info would be appreciated...

Hang onto it Dirkus. The unfortunate part is it is built by Ideal Vending and not Coca Cola. I have a buddy who works for Coke vending and he said they are not in demand. If that is the case, why are we the only two people who still have them. Mine is not in new condition and has seen better years, but it still works and it works well. My husband grumbles every time we move, but he collects all kind of junk (400 keychains) so I will not part with it. Also, it was given to my by my father, so I just cannot let it go. My is from the Windsor Airport and was built in 1954. Ideal vending isn't around any more, that's why our machines still are. They were built to last, not like the crap from China. I'd hang onto it because if they keep sending refrigerators to us from third world countries, at least we know we'll have a fridge that works. IF times were better it would be sold. I'd hang onto it unless your wife is nagging you to death.

Hi! I posted a picture of a Coldstream coca cola cooler that i have, it looks very similar to yours but instead of a 25 cent coin mechanism mine is a 15 cent, i have been trying to aqure informaiton about it but have not been able to, juding by the date of yours is 1954, mine possibly is even earlier than that. Its in emaculate shape & im so glad i found your post on here! :) Just thought id share this with you!

I also have a Coldstream cooler like yours. I know it sat for at least 12 years in a un heated garage, but with a little wire repair it still runs and cools. It is in fair condition , but needs some parts that i think would make it look like the original.
Does any one know where i can find , a slide rack, lid handel , bottel opener and frame that goes around the opener ?
