      I keep thinking 'light fixture part' for some reason, but still also don't have the slightest idea *why*, or *what* such a part might do...?? Certainly nothing electrical in nature, maybe if it was just a decorative piece of some large/elaborate fixture?? (which still wouldn't really explain why it would be its own distinct piece, vs. something otherwise cast to/permanently part of some other larger thing...?)

      How big is it -- mebbe a few inches long??
