Not sure of the year OR the maker on this one but guessing an early 1900's pickle fork with MOP handle.

Birmingham hall mark but the makers mark is unclear, so any help appreciated.

Definitely 1924 not sure on the makers mark. What letter would you say was the first one ?

Well it LOOKS like KP & S but nearest I get is HP &S but there seems to be an I before these letters.

      I guess it must therefore be H P & S
      H Pidduck & Sons
      Birmingham 1920 hallmark

      The fork was assayed in 1924. H Pidduck & sons was 1930 - 1966.

But that's a v not a z. Google Birmingham date letters. It gives you an index and press on Z. Same with the makers Mark's, Google Birmingham makers Mark's and go from there. Good luck. Off to work now. Neil

But it surely follows that if they were there in 1920 then they were there in 1924 (Date of MY hallmark) and not from 1930 as you suggested?

That date letter v on your snip is for 1945. The date marks are very similar so it's an easy mistake to make. Neil

Except it wasn't I that claimed it was a 1920 hallmark - it was from here.

Also note that mention is made on that page of H. Perkins from 1904 and not the later date that you make mention of so its all very confusing - esp as the makers mark is not very clear at all, wouldn't you agree?
