Flowers are my inspiration and bring me joy during the long winter months here, in Northland.
Most of my different collections are decorative with floral motifs.
1. Vintage Japanese cloisonne box, mid 20th.
2. Vintage German gallery open work border and handles, porcelain tray with transfer ware yellow lotus pond motif.
3. Vintage European salt glazed pottery candle holder, mustard enamel painted floral motif on dark brown background.
4. Vintage copper metal lidded dish with openings, for fragrance or incense, applied heavy green enamel foliage motif, Japanese by ANDO, mid 20th.
All beautiful but esp love the tray with yellow lotus pond, so serene
Thank you Jenni, I love it too.
I really laughed seeing that box as it brought back an old memory. I was given one when I was 8 or 9 years old and told it was a special box just for me. Being special I dumped my brand new 48 pack of crayons in it for safe keeping because a 48 pack of crayons back then was a status symbol. Crayons and marbles were treasured and traded.
Wow! fhrjr2.
Special box indeed. These are highly collectible these days, I don't suppose you still have it?
Love the memories from other people about some objects we post. Adds a sentimental value to them. Thank you.
No, that was over 60 years ago. As I recall I left it out on the porch in the sun and the crayons melted and it was thrown away.
Some really neat pieces you have!
Thank you for the fine comments and loves CW members. Always appreciated.
