I bought this small jewelry box, 5.0 cm x 13.5 cm x 9.0 cm, at a Danish thrift store for the equivalent of USD 7. Probably made of some sort of pinewood ? with lots of inlay. Arab ? 20th or 21st century ? If you know better, then don't hesitate to tell me !

I have 4 little boxes identical to yours on their side design and almost identical on the top design. Very beautifully designed with tiny mosaic designs and many pieces that look like MOP.
They are all completely lined with red flocked paper resembling velveteen.
The lids are very slightly domed.
I bought mine in Egypt in 1993. Many shops there sold them. There were several choices of lid designs so I bought a variety. I don’t recall the price but they were not more than a few dollars so I bought some for myself and to give as gifts.

Many thanks Watchsearcher. I've now googled that it's a 'Khatam' design, which origins in Iran.
