My mother died several years ago & I inherited some plates & teapots that I’m sure belonged to her mother, who was born in the 1880’s.
Everything was packed away until the other day when we were having a clear out & found the box which contained them.
One piece in particular is a cream based (looks like a sandwich plate) with gold flowers all over the plate front itself & not just on the rim like many examples I’ve viewed.
On the back of the plate is written “SUNSHINE” RP561073 but could be RPS61073, which I presume refers to the pattern design plus REGD SOL 391413 over suns rays with the J & G MEAKIN logo underneath.
What is puzzling is it also has written WARRANTED 22 KT. GOLD in gold lettering also on the back, so again presumably all the gold flowers are in 22kt gold.
I’ve searched several sites with pics of Meakin crockery designs, but up to now I’ve not found anything close to this design, let alone anything marked 22 KT GOLD.
Is this something you can help me identify? The plate is in excellent condition & doesn’t appear to have had much use. I can’t ever remember mum ever using it at all.

I would think the letters Rp, is actually RD which is short for registration Number, which means the design was registered!
