    Decorative Hand painted wording "Holland Society of New York" on one side
    and dated "January 17th 1901" on the other side
    Accented with sailing ships and a Windmill

    ~*~The Holland Society was founded in New York City in 1885 to collect and preserve information respecting the early history and settlement of New Netherland by the Dutch.
    Its main objective is to find and preserve documentation about the inhabitants' lives and times in the Dutch colony. The society is still active to this day.~*~

      The piece itself is Dutch made by the Mijnlieff firm : A company is called “Aardewerkfabriek Fayence-en Tegelfabriek Holland” set up in Utrecht, Holland by Jan Willem Mijnlieff in 1894. The leaf and JM signature on the bottom of the piece as being that of Jan Mijnlieff.
