Identifying Saltillo textile

Hello, I would appreciate any information on this textile I found at a thrift store yesterday. I believe it is a Saltillo serape rug or blanket, with an Aztec sun center motif. I’m not very familiar with textiles, but have been doing some basic research on authenticity and have attached some photos of the weave and fringe for the experts to take a look. One thing to note is that the texture is quite soft, not a scratchy wool feeling at all. Any insight or things to look for would be much appreciated!
