Bought this concrete deer a couple months ago but kept forgetting to photograph it in the sunlight. But it turn out the night photos with flash work better. Especially as the maple tree is fully in leaf mode now. The partial sunlight breaks up the outline and makes it harder for concrete mountain lions to see it. The first two photos were at night and the last two in the daylight.
As for size it is maybe 2 1/2 feet long from the tip of the nose. That is just eyeballing it. I would guess it weighs about 50 pounds. As one who lifts fifty pounds at work I know what 50 pounds feels like. Glad I just had to carry it up to the front yard.
Looks like it is a 4 pointer. The face has been repaired. We shall see how it holds up in winter when it gets buried in snow. The paint on the body looks fairly good otherwise not in that good a shape. But then again concrete animals look good with wear.
Next week I will post the new gnome so that is something to look forward to.
He's fabulous, very majestic pose
Are the repairs due to bullets ? LOL !!
