I found a basket full of odd cups and saucers yesterday in a charity shop. It was a nightmare to look through, as there were so many jumbled together, but eventually I pulled out these interesting cups, and found some matching saucers. I ended up with 2 cups, 4 saucers and another old cup, all 20p each! 2 of the cups have cracks, but I find them really interesting. Gaudy Welsh is a term of pottery in similar colours, which I assume originated in Wales, but were made all over Britain between 1820 and 1860. They are crudely painted in lovely cobalt blue, Pinky flowers and copper lustre. 2 of the saucers matched the cups, one was very similar and the biggest one is of a finer quality and painting. It's a pity there wasn't a cup to go with it!
