I thought I'd share this vintage Hip Roof Toolbox restoration project I've been working on now that it's completed.
Best guess given other items that accompanied this toolbox it's from the 1950's through 70's.
Originally I was just going to donate it but one thing lead to another and well... I fully restored it and customized it a tad.
I went for a Red, White and Blue theme. Cobalt metallic blue exterior, metallic aluminum interior and solid red tray.
Over 12 coats of paint to the outside including a 2k clear coat.
I added custom made feet to the bottom to protect the bottom. Staying with vintage I added a protective red felt to the tray supports. Added clear feet to the tray. Added a 5 year Navy Blue Anti Corrosion Liners to both the box and tray.
It should last another 50 or 60 years if well cared for.
Unfortunately I don't know who is made by...
