NEED SOME ID HELP. Something I recently found. To look at it the detail it appears to be Art Nouveau style. The glazing is flat finish and very smooth to the feel. I just can't find anything like this and would like to know if anyone has any idea. I'm pretty sure it isn't Japan or China.
The base has a light yellow/beige finish. The outer bottom edge is unglazed. I finally found some embossed numbers on the base. Extremely hard to see and impossible to photo. The 1st numbers appear to be 7839 or 7832. The second set of two numbers are either 36 or 38. The base isn't crackled with age. Inside isn't crackled either.
It weighs 7 oz and is just a tiny bit over 3 1/2" high. There is gold outlining around the orange flowers. All of the detail is similar to RS Prussia blown out molds. But unlike RSP this is very opaque. Light doesn't show through when held up to a light.
I don't know what to call it. I wouldn't consider it to be a vase. Maybe the bottom part of something that had a lid? There isn't any inside rim to take that kind of a lid anyway.
