Hello. It has been awhile but I am still looking for great things to share. I thought this piece was nice but not sure what it is. It has a lovely art scene of a vintage time in oriental history and script writing. Seems to be ceramic white glaze over beige clay. I hope someone here can share some light on this piece. It is beautiful and 8"H.
Hi there,
I don't think this is a vase. The neck is too narrow, and the body of the piece is too straight, and tall. If it were a vase the body would be rounded, and shorter. Like a weed pot - (if that makes any sense at all).

It could be an old saki bottle, but not a vase.
Thank you Gillian. You know I kept looking after I posted and concluded as well that it may be a Saki bottle, so now looking for this type.
This is what I found out on my Saki bottle from the Japanese ID Facebook site: This Tamajiman sake is the brand name of the Ishikawa Brewery in Tokyo (in western Tokyo, Fussa City along the Tamagawa River, dividing Tokyo from Kawasaki City); established in 1863 in the late Edo period (1603-1868) and thus your bottle has the illustration of Edo-period sake-making. Tamajiman brand was introduced in 1933. Dates between 1940-60s.
