That Red Fox bottle, to me anyway is the nicest of the bunch. It should clean up rather nicely. In my opinion the last bottled pictured is a soda.

Thanks Bottle-bud! I agree, I really love the design of the Red Fox bottle.

I would really like to know how to clean the bottles safely without losing the painted labels.

I have a lot of old bottles which needed cleaning inside but the bottle brushes I tried would not reach the very bottom.
Quite by chance at the grocery store, I found a very long handled brush that was labeled as a hummingbird feeder brush. It is perfect for even the tallest bottles.
I just used dish soap and warm water, sometimes some Windex squirted inside and my long scrub brush.

Excellent advice Watchsearcher. Thanks for the info. I'll keep my eye out for one of those.

My parents had an old trash pile in a ravine dating from the 1960s or before. Most of the trash had rotted away except the metal and glass.
I enjoyed poking around and pulling out interesting bottles and jars.
I think it’s addictive....something special could be just in the next layer down!

It's definitely exciting. I've pulled a bunch of bottles from this dump so far. I've only posted the sodas. Most are liquor, wine, whiskey, and beer. Many unknowns. All dating from the 50's and 60's. I'm hoping if I can get deeper there will be some older treasures.
