Another mystery. This Duette style piece has a Boucher patent assembly piece. The two clips have letters on back. One has a J and the other has R and maybe F. Since assembly is Boucher are the clips possibly Boucher also? Any clue about the letter marks?
Fabulous rhinestone brooch, love the deco type design
Hi I agree with Ms.CrystalShip. Trifari and Coro used numbers for the stone setters, but Boucher used letters. However, when Boucher got the patent for the duette clip mechanism he was working for Mazer Brothers. He left Mazer in 1937 to start his own company. The patent for the mechanism is dated 1936. Mazer used letters as the stone setter's mark also. This is either Mazer or Boucher.
Jenni, thank you, I think this piece is just so stunning and elegant! Appreciate your kind comment!
Broochman, thank you so much!
Eileen, appreciate the info.
Plein-air-painter, thanks so much for that history and confirming. I did not know that. I was just looking at your posting about clip mates and duettes.
