Modern Japanese Pottery Cup/Saucer - whimsical.

I recently purchased these from an area charity shop - clearly modern era Japanese pottery or possibly simply intended to mimic. In case not evident from the photos the decoration depicts a female face - on the cup three different expressions! They make me smile.....To give an idea of size, the saucer or plate measures around 5" across. Clearly hand built and painted - I found the join/seam inside the cup especially noteworthy - as is the very thin wall. Both pieces are marked, though differently - the plate is impressed and the cup painted. I actually purchased a pair, total of 4 pieces, but the second set is almost identical so just photographed one set. If anyone recognizes the style/artist or has an opinion re the presumed Japanese origin, I would be most thankful. In any case, hope you enjoy viewing.
