Here is a 3 1-4"H x 4 1-2"W aqua glass bird perched on a branch by Fenton Glass, item 5238 from late 90s. I think the aqua blue here looks very liquid & reminds me of the ocean

He's such a beautiful little birdie, quiet like the one's that visit my garden on a day to day basis or like the one's that accompany my granddad while he's working(he's a gardener) and sit on the end of his upturned shovel- begging him for some leftover breadcrumbs when he's done eating lunch! They have this pose and this little glass sculpture has perfectly captured them in their over eagerness for crumbs!

The color is lovely, it does have a very fluid look. Nice find!

Eileen thank you for the great compliments and agreement about the ocean, although I should have clarified a beautiful ocean like your Pacific - where I live the Atlantic is rather gray-blue on the coast, and a dark blue further out, but it is this aqua bluegreen off the Caribbean islands I remember. That video of the birdie rescue sounds so sweet, I am going to check it out on ytube soon, it's a wonderful story

Lauren I would love to see your garden birds and how fantastic that your granddad has a tame friend that sits so close to him on his shovel for breadcrumbs, he sounds like a very kind person. My grandma used to throw breadcrumbs out in her backyard for a flock of birds to eat but they were skittish and would eat then fly off. Also, at my (prior days) bird feeder they would see me coming with a bag of seed to fill it and scatter, but the squirrels stuck around to get their overspill feast :) I agree, this glass bird has a very expectant pose, thanks so much for the kind words

MrsT I appreciate the lovely compliments, I guess you have noticed aqua is one of my fave glass animal colors, and in this case it does look like water, so glad you thought so too

Ken I'm truly delighted that you enjoyed my aqua glass bird & that you love that color too, he is one of my fave glass pieces due to his realistic shape and lovely summery aqua color - time for all of us to hit the beach :)
