Peerless Handcuff Sample Model

Smith & Wesson started manufacturing handcuffs for the Peerless Handcuff Company in 1914.
This particular example is a Model 2 Version 3, that was manufactured in 1924.
This is believed to be the "Sample" used for the contract of 15,000 handcuffs for the Peerless Handcuff Company of March 1924. Starting with delivery on July 1, 1924 at the rate of 50 pair per day and to continue without interruption, except only for delay arising from fires, strikes, or other cause beyond the control of said Smith & Wesson.
This "SAMPLE MODEL" was found in the Smith & Wesson Factory.
