Just received this(30 mins. ago) Hubley Auto Transport. It was cataloged #521 only in '57. The cab trailer is not in too bad of shape, it's missing one air cleaner canister. The box is pretty rough, but these boxes are pretty flimsy especially with these longer 500/510 series cab/trailers. It has all of the original load of '48 Packards, with the original stickers still on top. These are the soft plastic cars that only came with the 521. The 501 Auto Transport in '50 hard plastic Packards. It still has the ramp also.
I now have all of the variations of the 510 series diesels(pic #3). These cabs are the hardest to find, especially with the air canisters and exaust stack which were removable. They were the last larger cab type truck made by Hubley with the 500 numbers but they only made them for two years. Strangely the first 500 cab, the '48 GMC cab over from 48-51 is a lot easier to find. They had a riveted body that couldn't be taken apart like the '51 Ford cab and this 510 diesel. Murphy's toy law: "More pieces, more to get lost."
Last pic is all of the metal Hubley Auto loaders, front to back; #492, #501, #521.
Thanks for dropping by Toyrebel motors.
Good Stuff mr. Toy
Thanks Vinyl, I love that Ideal car and the deco teardrop trailer you shared. I dig cars and trailers. I guess why I like auto transporters so much also.
Pretty awesome set!!
Thanks Jscott, I've been trying to find this version of the Auto Transport for a while, finally got lucky.
Thanks guys for the loves.
That set has it all. A car carrier with cars and a box plus vintage Hubley.
Many thanks, Apache. I concur with your comment, especially having all the cars.
