Hello everyone!!
I posted this fellow a couple of years ago, but felt him worthy of posting again. He's a lifesize Pug made of solid cast aluminum. I get a lot of comments from visitors and passersby. This fellow was solid black when I took possession of him. So, I decided to paint him to look more realistic. He's extremely detailed, from his skin folds right down to his nails. He measures 11.5" tall and 15" long and weighs nearly 22 lbs. In regards to it's age, I don't believe he's vintage quite yet. Hope you enjoy seeing him as much as I do.
Thanks to you all for stopping in for a look!!!!
Scott
He's so cute and you did an excellent job painting him in realistic colors, good work Scott
Thank you Jenni!! Very much appreciated!!
I never happened to see one life size made of cast aluminum. I have seen life size made of pewter, brass, concrete and bronze. What I find a bit more unusual is that he faces to the left.
fhrjr2,
It's the first and only cast aluminum figure I own. The original black paint had started to chip and that's when I discovered it was aluminum. I've always loved the nice detailing of this one. Wish I knew who made this fella. Any suggestions?
jscott0363 Any of the life size ones I have seen were made in other countries to be used on a patio or in a garden setting. They were to large for what I was collecting at the time so I pretty much overlooked the details about them.
Thomas,
He hasn't nipped anyone yet. Just don't make any sudden moves:)
Thank you Ms.CrystalShip!!! I've never owned a Pug, only Dachshunds, which seem to stay wired 24/7. Always full of energy. I've always wanted a Pug, but my wife loves her Dachshunds and ruled out a Pug.
It's really difficult when you lose a pet that have literally became a part of your family. I've been there 4 times already. I guess I'm a glutton for punishment:)
Ms.CrystalShip yes they are fine pets...............except they snore so loud the windows shake. Ours used to lay upside down on a huge papasan pillow and it still shook the windows. I finally kept a sneaker beside the bed and when he woke me with his snoring I smacked the floor with the sneaker to wake him. Then it was a race to see who got to sleep first.
Thank you all very much for the loves, comments and for stopping by!!!!

Hi Eileen,
We have rescue Mountain Cur mix and she snores loudly, but not like a Pug or Bulldog. There's a movie on Netflix called "Patrick". If you love Pugs you'll want to see Patrick the Pug.
You'll love "Patrick". We watched it last night and truly enjoyed it.
aura,
Thank you very much for the love and for stopping by!!!
Marvelous little guy! And very nice... Scottisation! ;-))
Kyra,
Thank you so very much! And thank you for the love as well. Always appreciated.
So one day your going to post a picture of all your cast iron animals on your lawn for us to see all of them at once ... what a work of art that would be ...hmmmmmmmmmmmm..later bud .
Theonlyone,
Lol, that might be quite an undertaking!! I have so many packed away in trunks and those trunks happen to be staked in our storage facility. When I retire, in a couple years from now, I'll take everything out of storage and sort thru it. That's when I might be able to group them all together for a photo op:)
