So my helpful and knowledgeable friends, can anyone help me with information about this one please. I inherited it from my Father in Law and it is in the style of Meissen but as it is unmarked I presume it is a continental copy. There are a couple of pieces of damage, the end is broken on one horn and slight damage to the goats glasses, and I suspect it may date from around 1900 or thereabouts. Any ideas about the figure, identity and any story associated with it. Thanks everyone and best wishes. Robin.

I just Googled “man riding goat figurine” and came up with many figurines of this motif.
Some made by Meissen, Sitzendorf, and others.

One version was listed as “The Taylor on the Billy Goat”, another was “ Count Bruhl’s Taylor”.

The markings of the bottom picture is not clear so you should check on line to identify who made yours.
      Some listed were quite pricy!
