Gold honeycomb bracelet

Sometimes it's less about the item and more about the purchase. This is my latest such tale. The bracelet was lying on a table that had some very good jewelry, but most of it was not. At 50 eurocents a piece and the promise of a discount in case of a bulk buy, though, I just grabbed whatever remotely drew my attention and the bracelet did. It came cheaply packaged as in the first photo, fully sealed and all, but that could not be the original packaging because the clasp had broken off the chain. As well, the elongated end-of-chain link looked good, as I'm used to that on silver chains. Never thought about the why of it, but I guess that if you're going to add a long and thin link, it has to be soldered close to hold. And soldered close is generally a sign of quality.

I didn't check it properly until I got home and then I found another curiosity. The clasp is marked 585 while the round end-of-chain link is 750, so the clasp isn't original to the chain. Not the weirdest thing I've come across, but enough to make me annoyed I'll never know how the bracelet ended up like this.

As an aside, I don't have the means to test for gold, but it looks genuine to me. No discolorations or tarnish anywhere (microscope view, this includes the broken-off part of the clasp), good soldering and sharpness, acceptable color, and it's non-magnetic.
