My great grandmother born in Winnipeg, MB Canada, said this was one of the family lamps - which was already old by the time she was born in 1886. I cannot find this type of lamp anywhere - would like some feedback if anyone knows anything or has seen one before. Id like to turn the photos right side up but dont know how.
The lamp dates from the 1890’s and had a reverse painted “pretty lady” in the hollow stem that has dried off /peeled. It is considered a parlour lamp and the “Rosettes” design on the font is a common one for these parlour lamps. RER
thank you Loumanal....i appreciate the feedback!
I love the lamp! I think it's sideways because the picture is cropped too narrow. Maybe.
Could be I'll have to try again - tried rotating it sideways as instructed in the help section...to no avail.
