Hello everyone,
Here's another of my vintage Dachshund boot scrapers. I rescued this big fella from a barn recently. He had sunk into the ground about halfway. Needless to say, when I dug him out he was severely rusted. I brought him home, cleaned all of the rust off him and gave him a new paint job. I have another Dachshund boot scraper that my wife gifted me with a few years ago, but that one doesn't have the tongue out like this one. I like how his tongue is much more defined on this one.
I'm not sure if Hubley , National Foundry, Albany Foundry or who it was that made this one. I think he turned out fairly decent and I'm glad I rescued him from rusting away in a barn. He measures 21" long, 7 1/2" at his tallest point, his rear feet spread 6 3/4" wide and his front paws spread 4 3/4" wide. He weighs 25.4 lbs.
Thanks for stopping in for a look!!!
Scott
Here's the link to my other Dachshund boot scraper, in case anyone missed that one a few years back.

He's such a handsome dachshund & really like the cute tongue sticking out, a very eager fella
Thanks Eileen!! Hard to say how long he'd been stuck in the ground, but he'd eventually ended up as a rust chunk of iron if he'd stayed there. The family of the owner was clearing out their father's estate when I bought him. I like to refer to him as my latest rescue dog:)
Thanks Jenni!! He does look eager. I like the tongue on this one as well. My other Dachshund boot scraper doesn't have the tongue out. So, he must be from a different manufacturer.
Many thanks to you all for the loves, comments and for stopping by!!!!!

Michael,
Thanks very much for the love and for stopping by!!!
How do you clean off the rust prior to painting? I'm an avid bead blaster. Nice Job!
Many thanks buckethead!!! I used a brass wire brush on an angle drill. But, my neighbor does auto body work and ran it thru his bead blaster to finished then job. Compared to what it looked like when I brought it home, it looks 100% better.
Many thanks to you all for the loves, comments and for stopping by!!

Love it! I have one that my son gave me many years ago, but it does not have the tongue sticking out. Thanks for posting - a delight to see.
Thank you Sharminf!! I too have one of these without the tongue sticking out. I love both of my boot scrapers, but this one happens to be my new favorite. Thanks for the wonderful comment and for the love!!!
