    These are from my grandfather. I have been unsuccessful in trying to figure these out. I think that the first one is the same, just faded.

      I found the red/white/blue one in the 3rd picture - it is the Certificate of merit, which has been discontinued.

      I also found that I already found the first one with the two - I didn't want to delete it in case someone was looking into it for me. Sorry - so many to go through I got confused.

      I found that the Certificate of Merit was awarded between 1905 and 1918. I just learned through Ancestry that my grandfather's uncle was in the military and is showing in the Navy and Marines records for WWI and WWII. This may explain the medal. For whatever reason he may have kept his uncle's pins, medals, and ribbons.
