I bought the Jade Nephrite Scholars Stone in the 1960’s that has totally different patterns on each side.The rest of these are all kinds of bright colors with a couple that have patterns. All but a couple are really old.I have no idea what any of these are called.I only get them out a couple times a year then put them back up.

What a wonderful gorgeous collection of gemstones & mineral stones, the colors & textures are awesome, there are so many beauties but as purple is my fave color I adore that amethyst obelisk. These are lucky stones jb so hang onto them!
Thanks for the kind words Jenni.It’s funny because for some reason the white cat with the black spots just loves batting these around on the floor.He’s a riot and its to funny watching him as he’s fascinated with these.I’m sure he’ll eventually lose interest so I think I’m going to make a video and put it on YouTube.Have a good day.
Great collection, a relative gave me some he found and polished in a rolling bin for days. Know little about these except the Chinese study Nephrite was highly valued as a decorative piece in China, in the sense that they would meditate and focus on the design on the stone's surface.
The quartz geodes, with crystals are really interesting. Quartz is the large family of stones which include amethyst, citrine, carnelian, clear crystal, agate, etc.

I see red jasper, amethyst, tiger eye, rhodochrosite, petrified wood, carnelian, may or may not be laboradite, and maybe some lapis lazuli...
Thanks shareurpassion for identifying some of these.I found out real fast that if you don’t have a background in gems and stones it’s almost impossible to figure out what these are.I started looking these up and just as soon as I thought that I was sure I had the right name for it I would see another one that looked the same with a different name so I gave up.I’m looking up the ones you named now.Thank you
Shareurpassion is spot on! I see agate and sunstone with possibly azurite. Remember, just because it is not a diamond does not make is semi- precious. Diamonds are quite plentiful and in fact some colored stones are much rarer than diamonds. Ruby is just one example.
