    Found this old knife, and need help identifying what type of knife it is. I was told it was used in one of the world wars by the British. It has ‘Vulcan’ and what appears to be the names of ‘Thomas’ and ‘Sheffield’ on the blade.

      Sheffield, England. Could be over 100 years old or might not. Sheffield is known for cutlery.

      The stamp should read Vulcan,T. Ellin & Co., Sheffield or Thomas Ellin & Co. they were in business from 1840 to 1933. Their Vulcan series was based on the fact that, Vulcan was a mythical creature that harnessed fire and worked the forge for the good of mankind. Many of their knives were sold in Canada.
