Pictured is a Hopi Katsina doll made in the southwest in the 1930's. This doll represents the Konin Katsina. This doll was made by the Havasupai people, who lived to the west of the Grand Canyon. Most of the mineral paint remains, and is still vibrant. Painted marks on the face indicate ritual paintings, used during a mixed dance. It is made of cottonwood, and stands about twelve inches tall.
