I'm aware of most of the Fenton Glass marking, but I'm unsure of the initial "F" on the light switch of this milk glass hobnail bedside lamp. Does anyone know who may have marked the lamp switch with an initial. There are no other markings on the lamp.
Thank you in advance!
The letter on the switch would refer to the company that made the switch, not the lamp.
Makes sense, thank you.
The "F" switch was made by Franklin switch company. Old ones the F was inside a triangle, from there they went to the F inside a circle and finally to just the letter F.
I will add a bit more that I am sure you will welcome. The marks were only used from 1910 to 1920. The switches were even used on Tiffany lamps. While you may not see a mark, the experts say to look around the rim of the glass and the rim itself very carefully because many were marked there where it isn't obvious.
Thank you for the information, very helpful.
Mine With an F on it as dated 19 0 9, And it's on the outside. I have a bridge lamp that it is on.
