A dollhouse just isn’t complete without some outdoor spaces and out buildings.
One the perimeter of the yard, I had to add and outhouse. My early childhood home actually had one. It was just as bad as you can imagine one to be but here I gave it a “fantasy upgrade” with boxwoods and arborvitaes, a pink rose bush climbing onto the roof and an oil lantern.

Also hidden out back near the outhouse is a whiskey still. This toy one belonged to my dad who had a colorful history from his young days of being a bootlegger, modifying cars’ engines and interiors to haul moonshine from secret stills in the mountains to eager regular customers around town.
Wisely, he gave up that “career” after he became a family man....so the still is a nod to old family history.

After a visit to Brookgreen Garden in NC (a sculpture garden), I knew exactly what I should do with my collection of tiny figurines I bought decades ago. I created my “Art in the Garden” walled sculpture garden in the side yard with gazebo, paths and pond. The tiny copper wire tree came from my mom’s house where we had displayed it tucked in with a potted plant as a bottle tree.
I love bottle trees and have several in my real yard.

I made my garden shed from a wooden recipe box turned on it’s side.
It mimics my parent’s shed, only not so crammed full!
I created the tiny jars that are on the work bench; the nails in the jars actually came with some saw-tooth picture frame hangers.
The light fixture started out as a piece of scrap metal in Dad’s shed...it was probably a flange off of something long ago. I added a silver painted wooden bead and had a perfect light fixture.

    Thanks for looking!
    I hope you enjoy!

Jscotto363, thank you! I love this outhouse much more than the real one!
The still was made to be an incense burner which uses those cone shaped pieces of incense—they make wisps of smoke come from the bottom of it.
      Thanks for the compliments! :-D

My Grandfather from the "Old Country" had a Whiskey Still at his farm in Northern WI. I guess that kept him warm in the bitter winters :) I love the detail of your work...
