The Banana Splits used to drive around in the 6 wheeled ATV vehicle seen in photo #1 and #2. The actual vehicle could drive on land or water. Got a feeling they were not that great at either, still it looks like fun. Both of these sets are circa 1970-1974.
The ATV or all terrain vehicle is from the Search for the Mummy's Tomb Set. The pontoon boat is from the Hunt for the Pygmy Gorilla. Both are happily sitting in 6 inches of water in my vintage claw foot tub. No sign of sinking and both are still riding high in the water after 24 hours. Pretty good for near 50 year old toys.
When last we saw the pygmy gorilla he had been netted but there was no way to transport him. Luckily the ATV stopped by. Please keep in mind the pygmy gorilla is plastic and not real thus being carried in a net upside down does not bother him.
Post 2000 coming soon!
Very cool!! I got that same blonde GI Joe for Christmas in 1970.
I remember both of the sets. They would call him a vertically challenged gorilla now.
Thank you very much Scott. I got that one as a present in 2001.
Thank you very much Toyrebel. He is differently standing upright.
Thank you

Thank you Hawkeye78.
Hi there Fort.
Are you likely to get a Banana Splits version, or will you just sing the song when GI Joe drives this?
Thank you very much the rarely seen racer4four. Will just be singing the song I think.
