This 3 1-2" x 3 1-2" pale aqua blue glass horse was called the balking colt, one of three colt poses designed by Thomas Heisey in the early 1940s, reissued by Imperial Glass in 1979 (imprint on base)

That is a lovely color!
Gorgeous, as are all of your figurines Jenny. I have never seen any US glass figurines here in Aus, so it's lovely to see yours!.
This is an odd little sculpture- his pose makes me think someone is trying really hard to train him and he really doesn't like the halter he's been fitted with, or it brings the phrase 'You can bring a horse to water but you can't make him drink!' to mind!
I think his colour is also one of the prettiest shades of blue I've seen yet, it reminds me of the brightest and coolest of spring and very early summers we get where I live- it's almost icy in it's clearness,
Cool unique pose with such a pretty color.
With deep thanks for the kind love all

Thanks Ken for the lovely compliment, I admit to loving the color aqua as well, and often seem drawn to it in animal glass though I try to vary the colors
Lol Eileen you got the idea here, this young horse is stubborn like a mule! You are so lucky to have the aquamarine birthstone it's so pretty. Thank you for the wonderful praise, and yes we are both looking forward to my recent 6 lb acquisition (can't believe it made it through the mail in one piece) which I will post in a couple wks
Thank you MrsT so much for enjoying this color, me too, although I also saw it in cobalt blue which was also quite nice
Karen it is truly wonderful to see you again & hope you will keep visiting us as you were sorely missed!! Thank you my friend for the sweet compliments I am very glad to present my little glass animals to you, and am always totally in awe of your amazing collection. Stay tuned for the highlight of my collection which I will post in the next two wks, an unbelievable find
It IS sort of a funny sculpture Lauren, I think the designer was kind of going for amusement as the legs are very long and gangly (there were two other poses, in one the horse stands straight and has overlong legs), so it is kinda cute that he is pulling away & won't budge! Great description & glad you liked the color too, it is a very cool soothing shade
Many thanks Toyrebel for the super compliment I am really glad you liked the pose & color here, much appreciated
Thanks BB2 for the love and liking my glass horse it's greatly appreciated
