I had myself a grand morning at the flea markets today! Besides some great silver finds (large Georg Jensen ring) was this ring. I was looking through varied small plastic bags of jewelry and came to a bag of rings. Dumped them all out and proceeded to put each one back in the bag - junk rings. I stopped when I picked up this one. That 750 mark is the European equivalent of 18K. Acid tests, on the touchstone and on the metal itself, confirmed it. I expect all those stones are diamonds. More than 100 of them. Am going to the jeweler tomorrow to have them checked and tested. I PAID 50 CENTS.
UPDATE: the plot thickens....so far no confirmation on the stones being diamonds, but perhaps White Sapphires. I am going to go to my own jeweler today to see what he says about it. Is it real or is it Memorex? (Oldies here will know what I mean!)
UPDATE 01/08/2019-------> the stones test as white Sapphires, according to two jewelers. All set by hand. I sold the ring locally on 01/07/2019 for 300 Euro/$332.00.
Hey Bonnie, how've you been? Totally gorgeous ring, the rhinestone swirl design is so lovely, and amazing price what a great find! - Jenni
Hi Bonnie!! Great to see you posting again. We've missed you. BEAUTIFUL ring and incredible find!!
Jenni - not rhinestones...diamonds....no rhinestones in an 18K pave' ring as far as I know.
Aha, real diamonds, no wonder so exceptionally beautiful - and even MORE of an astounding price, you are SO lucky!
LOL!!! Un freakin believable!!! You slam dunk more than I do girl!!! Good for you, it's a beauty! Good to see you!
Yayyyyy! And WOWWWW!!!
Good to see you back with your unbelievable finds :-)))
Oh my goodness ! I can’t wait to hear the results of jewellers trip. I also had noticed you hadn’t posted in a while. Nice to see a post and interesting item ????
Hey girly powder, watch it now... I'm not old!!! LOL!
Wow, nice find!! Welcome back :)
Very nice.
I'm a jeweler and studying to get my gemologists certification. Chances are that if they have set stones in 18k gold they will use real diamonds. If your jeweler chargers you to tell the difference I would just go to a pawn shop. They will check for FREE! They have the right tool to tell the difference between diamonds and sapphires. Whites sapphires do not sparkle quite like diamonds, BTW.
Efesgirl any outcome from your own jeweller ?
See narrative for an update!
Wow Bonnie, you really did quite well with this beautiful ring!!!
A very fair trade. I'm sure they were happy as can be. Loving that.
Yes, we negotiated a good price and she went away happy. Definitely not my kind of ring so was glad to sell it.
