i have been looking for a clock like the one i have. Yours looks so much the same but thinking i have older version. The case is the same but i have two doors that have a lock on and my weights are shorter ad fatter. the clock face has fancy work in each cornoe otherthan that alike. Also it doesnt mention that manufacturing co. the works says Wm L Gilbert Winstad Conn. Wish i could send you pix and get more pix. This has a count strike on hr and a single on half hour. think its about early 1900.
My clock has 2 different chimes for every hour,(ding dong for every hour) & a single chime at the half hour. I figured it to be from 1915-1927, but haven't exactly pin-pointed the year. I also have it running & chiming as it's supposed to! Wife loves it, but I hear it strike the 4 a.m. hour almost everyday as I'm a light sleeper.
That is so nice to see. This is a single chime counting the hour and a single half hour. i have lots but this new addition is my favorite. Does yours say wm l gilbert on the gold works in the back? mine is working but only one weight ..needs repair and will have that don this winter. Had clock repair man retired friend out and he said i will pay about 200 to get it working proberly. i plan on doing that. Wish we could post pictures as the case is exactly like yours except for two doors and even came with the key. bought really reasonably so can fix
Yes, mine says WLM Gilbert Clock Co-Winsted, Conn USA. This clock was pulled out of a dumpster years ago by my wife, so it was essentially free! I replaced a few inexpensive parts, straightened a few arms & levers, made a few adjustments & it's running great!
