'Cush-n-Tred' glass promotional ashtray.

A very nice 'local' piece recently added to the collection. I could't resist it as it was such a quirky ashtray. Obviously, 'Cush-n-Tred' is a carpet underlay of some kind, and from what I've been able to research, the product itself still exists. From a marketing perspective, I think they boobed somewhat by not even including a phone number. Strange, isn't it?
What's interesting is the company/distributor is, (was?, I can't seem to find anything listed for them on Google), based in a town called Shelf, which is just outside my home town of Halifax. I'm sure it's not going to win any awards for rarity, or design come to think of it, but it's another interesting artefact from the days when smoking was an everyday part of a company's promotional strategy.
