I need Manikin's expertise on this one. I won this gal at an outdoor auction yesterday after finding her laying on the pavement in the hot sun. I had a bidding war with a guy who was trying to win an electric fish finder for his boat. ( It was a "choice" auction) He chickened out, though, and I walked away with her for $27. Since then I've found out that she is literally in perfect condition. She measures 22" long and she doesn't have any chips, cracks, or crazing. I'm pretty sure she's wearing her entire original outfit (minus the shoes) - dress, pantaloons, slip skirt, and stockings. Her hair is hardly mussed up at all, but I can't tell if it's human hair or mohair. She's got a lovely leather body that extends to her feet- they aren't porcelain. She's marked A&M or A4M followed by DRGM 201013. She also has some weird metal contraption protruding out of some holes in the back of her neck... Maybe she was a talker? I don't know how to work it, and I would hate myself if I broke her. I couldn't find much info on her mold number and found 0 dolls with the same neck contraption. So, if anyone knows more about her, please let me know. Thanks for looking!

Yes mold 201013 have a talking device activated by the lever on back of your dolls head :-) Wonderful buy and find ! They made 2 dolls that talked yours and mold 800 .

Oh it did not actually talk it made a squeak type noise and it works by pushing lever . But I would avoid doing that as it is a delicate piece .

Thanks, Manikin! Do you suppose she's pretty rare in her condition? I'd never consider selling her since she's my new BFF, but I can't believe how much trouble I've had trying to find another similar one for comparison. I think I've been looking almost non-stop since yesterday and only stopped to finally make this post. I'm pretty sure I've gone cross eyed!

I haven't pushed the lever voluntarily, but something must have brushed up against it when I set her down earlier because she totally squeaked. I was kinda hoping she was haunted... sigh

Thank you so much. I really appreciate you taking the time to find those for me. (I had to step away from my phone and rest my eyes) I don't know why I never think to check rubylane. ??????????? At least now I have some idea of her worth, even though she's priceless to me. I plan on rubbing it in the auction people's face when we go back next week. They laughed at me when I went for the doll instead of the fish finder. And when I asked them what was so funny, the lady standing behind me said that no one could believe I'd chosen the doll over the fish finder- seeing as how it was a brand new $200 fancy schmancy fish finder. I'd guess (conservatively) that she is probably at least twice the value of that machine. So, apparently the jokes on them.

Glad I could help and Yes she is treasure and better than a fish finder :-) Not all antique dolls have a unique feature like her making her more difficult to come across . Antique dolls vary from so much in price that had she been a common AM what you paid may have been retail but you won on this one !!!!!!!!!!! love her and all original is just another bonus
