Can anyone tell me about this antique lamp? I can't find markings anywhere on the lamp other than an F on the switch

The "F" on the switch is the company that made the switch. It was made by Federal Electric. If your switch has a number on it you can research their archives online. That won't show you the lamp but it will date the switch in the lamp. They only used three F designs on their switches over the years and that is how you date the switch.

Also I wonder what part of this lamp you are seeing as alabaster?

WOW those lamps have big asking prices. However when you look at what actually sells the story changes drastically.

Thanks everyone for the comments and information. Very helpful. Regarding the alabaster question - I'm referring to the base color of the lamp.
