This has to be one of most beautiful costume jewelry pieces I ever bought. Unfortunately this gold-plated darling is without name, at least I was not able to find a mark. Bought online from Czech republic ( BTW, you should see the silver art nouveau necklace the seller had! But someone lucky was quicker than me...)
The 3D design, the 3 unusual rhinestone "stamens", the "silver" pave part that is hidden behind the flower - love it! Someone played with the design to tell "I know what I am doing". This flower, at least to me, tells a story about a talented jewelry designer that was perhaps not able to find a job in the precious metal jewelry industry during the 1930s, what do we know?
As for its age - 1930s or 1940s?
I would be very thankful for your opinions on the piece (age, maker?), as usual.
Truly gorgeous find lentilka, the golden flower (tiger lily perhaps) & rhinestones are such a lovely combination
Gorgeous design ! love
Really stunning brooch. I agree with you on the age, but the maker? I wish I knew.
Thank you for your love, Newfld manikin, plein-air-painter !
Newfld, I did not notice it could be tiger lily, but looks like one!!
Ms.CrystalShip I totally agree about being able to edit our posts. I often hit submit only to see a typo or something I missed in the post that would have answered my question. I agree that it would be nice if CW Admin provided a means to edit or delete the post.
Ms.CrystalShip, thank you a lot! Glad you like it!!
fhrjr2, agree..
