      Tibetan or India Buddhist prayer wheel, the monks might hold one during temple ceremonies or in times of prayer, they are also exported as exotic decorative items for collectors of this kind of item.

      Also called a septre. Often used by royalty and priests to perform a ritual. Many churches still use them for baptisms. This one does appear to have Asian designs on it. Looks in good condition

      You mean like the Russian Orthodox church? Never considered that. Interesting fhr.

      truthordare yes and also the Catholic Church. Last time I was in a Catholic Church 40 or 50 years ago they still used them for baptisms etc.

      The Pope has a papal ferula which is huge that is used in ceremonies to consecrate churches etc. Bishops get a much smaller version and priests get this type sceptre.
